Day 238 of 362

The flash on my camera phone is VERY good. I couldn't even adjust this in Photoshop.

Hey All...

We had a late night at the store so Mrs. Gopher (the lovely Loquacious) went and opened the store for me. Thanks, beautiful. It's appreciated!

I have a couple of errands before I get to the store, but they shouldn't take too long. Once I get there and take over a bit, I get to run my Phoenix-set Champions game. We'll see how it goes. I'm hoping there are no issues., but I am preparing for possibilities.

Beyond that, that's it. Talk to y'all later...

Day 237 of 362

It's Friday... so that means FNM. With the release of the MtG: From the Vaults: Legends, I expected to be busier. As it stands, I don't really have time to expand this entry.

Day 236 of 362

Hey all... It's day four of "Operation: GopherDave Gets No Sleep". Thus far, we're not seeing much cause for the earlier hours, but, as stated, it's only been four days. Things may very well pick up.

On the gaming side of things, I get to play my laid back, cab driving, good-head-on-his-shoulders energy blaster, the Dark, tonight. I'd like to think it will help me with my creative road block, but I have a feeling it won't. I think I have what's happening with that nailed down, and it won't be cleared until I take care of another situation. Given how things things have (not) progressed on that front, and probably won't until Saturday, I'm expecting a situation much like KnightErrantJR had the last time he tried to run his Hellfrost game. Lovely.

Beyond that, not much is happening. I think I will price some MtG cards now, since there are a LOT of them to sort and price.

Ciao... GopherDave

Day 235 of 362

Another Wednesday, another shipment...

Actually not getting too late a start on the day, though sleep is at a premium. I probably should not have watched Drunken Master last night on NetFlix, but hey, it was Drunken Master and I had not seen it before.

Last night's DC Adventures game was a blast! We resolved one major, one minor story arc, and made Gorilla Grodd our... well... you know that last last word. The one that rhymes with "itch". On top of that, the boy was helping at the store last night and dove into a series of M:tG trades and sales. He hit the ground running when he came in and was going non-stop for FOUR HOURS. He did a FANTASTIC job. I pretty much threw him to the wolves and, with the exception of some minor register issues, he swam like a champ. I'm proud of him...

Day 234 of 362

Hey all...

I'm not getting a late start, and yet I am. I'm actually up and going earlier than usual, but with the expanded hours, I feel like I'm running behind. I've got an hour before the store opens right now and I have to place orders and do some other stuff... ...and I'm still at home. Ehhh... no biggie... It'll get done.

On a lighter note, tonight is Casual M:tG and KnightErrantJR's DC Adventures game. Yes, I get to play the cynical telekinetic, Marathon, once again. <Mr. Burns>Excellent...</Mr. Burns>

It should be a good night...

Day 233 of 362

Not really getting a late start, but we have a busy day ahead of us. I say us as Loquacious is diving in head first to help me cover the store with our new extended hours. She's fantastic...

I have several things I want/need to say, but I do not have the time currently if things are going to be done in a timely manner. So, I bid you adieu for now, with hopes of expanding on what's in my head currently.

Day 232 of 362

Hey there... this... this is the last day at the "old hours" for the store. Starting tomorrow, on weekdays, we will be opening four hours earlier than we have been, at 11AM instead of 3PM. It will add twenty hours to our work week. The reasons for this change are many, but we felt it was time.

Over the course of its four-plus year history, Armored Gopher Games has come from a store that was run as a starting venture by two guys with day jobs to where it is now; a thriving business which is the heart of a gaming community that is second to none. We couldn't have taken the steps we've taken without those who care for the place as much as we do. We're indebted and invested... and as a community, we're all in this together...
