Day 280 of 362

Hola... another FNM survived... also another REALLY good day at the store. Mostly cards, but some minis, some RPG books, and some paints and brushes as well. About the only thing we didn't sell much of yesterday were board games, which I find rather odd, as that is typically one of our stronger areas.

Today is a huge, all-day Pathfinder RPG event. It's combined with a benefit for a family who's patriarch was a local gamer that passed away due to an aggressive form of cancer. All proceeds from the event are going to help them out. If you're in the area and like to play D&D/Pathfinder, you should come check it out. It's shaping up to be a good time for a great cause...

Day 279 of 362

It's Friday, so it means Friday Night Magic... ...and apparently my son's work study teacher comes tonight, not last night as I erroneously thought.

Not much happened last night as pretty much every game that was scheduled got cancelled. We had some sales, but it was definitely slower than the last few days.

As for this whole blog thing, I just realized it's been a bit since I've done a percentage update. I've missed two out of two hundred seventy-eight days. That gives me a 99.28057553956835% "completion rate" thus far, and we are 76.79558011049724% through the year. Not bad... Honestly, it's a better percentage than I thought it would be at this stage.

Still thinking about after the year ends, though... =)

Day 278 of 362

It's Thursday... and of course I am running behind.

Gamewise, the game I was supposed to be playing in tonight got cancelled. S'okay though... the reason behind the cancellation is more than solid and totally understandable. I'll find something to do...

...Like talk to my son's CO-OP teacher. The boy is in a work program at school and his teacher comes in to observe him on the job. I'll expect I will have to answer some questions about the jobs he does for us, and the quality of his work. I actually look forward to it.

Beyond all that, things look relatively quiet on the retail front, so I'll catch up on some e-mail and other business. Take care, all...

Day 277 of 362

Hey there... I'm getting a late start again, so not much time to say anything. That's cool as I don't much to say right now...

Last night's DC Adventures games was excellent as we got to beat on Black Lantern Hypertime Marathon and friends. I think at least every one else took their best shot at doppelganger Marathon as a way of catharsis. See, Marathon is a douche, but he's a benevolent douche, so people don't hit him, even when they REALLY want to. Put an uber-tough lookalike in front of my teammates... well, that poor guy is getting jacked to the best of the New Guard's ability... sucks to be him.

Anyway... gotta go. More later if I have time (HA!)...

Day 276 of 362

Getting an earlier than usual start for me, but given what I need to accomplish today before I get to the store, I'm still running behind. How does that keep happening?

In gaming news, I finally kicked a dying game to the curb. I'm sad to see it go, because it started off with so much promise, but in its last few months, the game has been pathetically limping along. Mostly due to real life obligations between players, myself, and the store. Speaking of real-life obligations, I may have another one to deal with this Saturday, but I'm not certain yet. God bless external family drama... =P

In other gaming news, tonight, the New Guard go up against Black Lantern Hypertime Marathon, along with Black Lantern Amanda Waller, Black Lantern KGBeast, Black Lantern Conduit, and Black Lantern White Magician (Does that make him grey?). I'm really looking forward to it, as KnightErrantJR always has something fun planned up his sleeve.

Anyway, stuff to do. I would have done some of it earlier, but none of the places I needed to go to open up before 9AM. Go real life, go...

Day 275 of 362

It's Monday, and I'm running uber-late. Got a couple of things to do before I get to the store and about a half an hour to do them in.

Later... GopherDave

Day 274 of 362

Hey all... It's Sunday... I'm expecting a semi-lazy day at the Gopher, but my expectations have been wrong before. If all goes well, I'll get some work done that we've been putting off for a bit. If not, well... it will get done eventually.

Last night, I came home and did nothing except eat stew, pig out on a little ice cram with the daughter, and hang out watching TV with her. It was exquisite... I needed that more than I knew. Plus, I got about nine and a half hours worth of sleep in one sitting. Let's hear it for sleep! YEAH!!! GO SLEEP!!!

So... I'm actually ready to go. I'm running behind a bit as the dog wanted some playtime, but not enough to worry me. I should go, though, so I'm not totally behind. Take care, all!
