Day 224 of 362

Soooo... FNM went off without a hitch. For the After-FNM event, we drafted 3x Mirage. It was fun. I'd love to see Flanking come back as a mechanic. Banding and Phasing can go die in a hole, though.

Today is MtG M12 Game Day, followed by by "soft reboot" of my Champions game set in Phoenix. While I haven't gotten as much work done as I would have liked before today, I have gotten some thoughts down. Plus, tonight is more of me asking "who the hell is your character and what the hell does he/she do"? Which is something I should have been asking a long time ago.

Hopefully, barring fatigue, I will post some more stuff up tonight on how the Champions game session went.

Until then...

Day 223 of 362

Hey, all! Another Friday... another Friday Night Magic. I'm not looking for huge attendance, due to it being intersession, but I'm certain we'll have a few folks.

Zug's HERO6E game was last night. It was mostly fun... a bit frustrating at times. We did have one moment when another PC shot and killed the plot hook. It was actually pretty funny how it went down.

I'd love to extrapolate, but we are all running behind as it is at Casa Gopher.

Ciao... GopherDave

Day 222 of 362

It's Thursday, and it's time for some HERO6E/Champions action where I get to play! Like DC Adventures, it's also been four weeks since this game last ran, so I'm kind of itchy.

Beyond that, not much is on the agenda. The Pathfinder game got kiboshed as the GM's wife just recently had a baby. There is supposedly a one-shot game being run, but I have no confirmation as of yet.

We're also looking at having more "Gopher Mafia" shirts and hoodies made, as well as more Gopher D6s in a variety of colors. We should know more next week...

That's it for now... Hasta la Bye-Bye...

Day 221 of 362

Hey there... It's Wednesday and that means shipment day. I'm running even more behind than usual, so this will be shorter than usual.

Last night was the DC Adventures game that I play in. Excellent as always... thank you, KnightErrantJR. Once again, My character (Marathon) brings killing someone (Amanda Waller) to the table as an option based the revelation of new information. Never mind the fact that Waller has suicide bombs in four of us (if she dies, we die). Given how many morally repugnant situations she seems to be in the middle of, offing her is the most pragmatic good we could do for the world at this time.

Strange how the only one of Marathon's teammates who share his view is...

A) One of the two who WON'T die if she dies...

B) The same guy who a few sessions back threw the Bat-Signal at Marathon in anger/self-defense. (LONG story).

Day 220 of 362

Yep! I'm braving the seater vest today. Don't know how long it will last, though.

Another day... Time to go do some ordering. I'm later than I like, but I can still make deadlines. Really, I can do that...

Beyond that, tonight is Casual MtG at the store, and (hopefully) the first session of DC Adventures to happen in about four weeks. To be fair, we only run once every couple of week, so we've only missed one session. I'm looking VERY forward to some cynical, telekinetic action. Marathon has an agenda, and delaying it only makes him itchy... =P

peace... GopherDave

Day 219 of 362

Had a good day yesterday. Good visit to a fellow game store, and great talk with KR about how his business is doing. Came away with a couple of ideas we will be implementing at Gopher, with a twist or two to make them ours.

Tonight is WH40K, which usually means that I get to leave early, but Loq and I are debating who's staying and who's going tonight based on a couple of things going on in life. We'll figure it out later...

Beyond that, things are rollin' along... take care...

Um... Wow...

I just read this review of our store from one of Loquacious' blogging buddies, Lauby...

Lauby, color me stunned... Thank you very much...

Day 218 of 362

I'm not fooling myself today like I did yesterday. No sweater vest...

...but there is this snazzy tie clip. Boo-yah!
It's Sunday, and normally that means a couple of RPGs going on at the Gopher today. However, due to GenCon, one of them will not be running, nor will Monsterpocalypse be happening. Pathfinder Society and Board games are still good though.

Last night was not the productive workspace I envisioned it to be. A situation came up with my daughter which did not take much time to resolve, but kind of left me in a mental haze of "what the hell are going to do with this girl" for the better part of the evening. I recovered, but not in time to get any meaningful work done. Ehh... there's always tonight... hopefully.

Beyond all that, Loq and I (and the girl, who's on SERIOUS lockdown) will be making a road trip to see another game store. Loq and I have been looking at putting slatwall into the Gopher, and this store is not only full of slatwall, but the panels they put up are the same color as what we want AND they have leftovers that they are willing to let go for cheap. So...

Away we go...
