Day 134 of 362
Wow! Last night at the store was busy. We had a full 36 people for Friday Night Magic, and that, with other sales, gave us our best (non-convention) sales day ever! It was pretty much a madhouse, but definitely an enjoyable one...
Today, we get to turn around and do it again with the Launch Party for New Phyrexia. After that, I have a Champions game to run for which I will have done no preparation. However, I have a feeling that this session will pretty much run itself. Toodles all!

Day 133 of 362
A big day today with the release of the newest Magic: the Gathering set, New Phyrexia. Singles are all priced and sorted and the bulk common and uncommon cards have been put into playsets. Many thanks to the Gophers that helped out last night to get this accomplished (HighSign, Daddy DeathSpank, Snow, Osmosis, and Tiny A), plus another shout out to my wife (Loquacious) and our son (Skribl) for helping as well.
Once the day was done, Skribl, I, and few Gophers went to go see Priest at a midnight showing. Fun movie, if more than a bit predictable. Good actions scenes, and definitely set up for a sequel. Catch it at a matinee or as a rental, and you should have a good time.
I would write more, but Skribl is having an vision-aid related emergency, so I must attend to that...

Day 132 of 362
It seems that Blogger has had a brain fart and lost the post I did yesterday for this. Anyhoo... I didn't write much then, so I won't write much now...

Day 131 of 362
Time to make the donuts! Or, in this case, go order some games for the store and get ready for tonight. There are a couple of RPGs on the schedule, so nothing hugely busy. My big accomplishment for the will (hopefully) be folding in the the Mirrodin Besieged common and uncommon playsets into the main collection to get ready for the new stuff.
On the tattoo front, it's healing nicely. I started putting on a twice daily light application of moisturizer on it to help it heal. It looks good... Even on old, weathered skin like mine. =P
Until later... GopherDave

Day 130 of 362
See? Told ya I'd be back at it today... =P |
Another day... It's going to break 80 degrees here today, and I'm probably going to regret my "uniform" choices for the ten minutes it takes me to go from my air-conditioned house to my air-conditioned store.
I did make the mistake of wearing a t-shirt to bed last night in order to protect my new tattoo. Turns out that I ended up sweating so much the t-shirt stuck to the tattoo and I had to carefully peel it off. Upon close inspection, it looks like no harm was done to the art, but I was nervous about it.
Today is usually order day at the store, but with the new Magic: the Gathering set being released this week, I think I'll hold off until Wednesday to order.
Anyway... take care!

Day 129 of 362
PSYCH!!! |
As for the tattoo itself, it's a family piece. The angel represents my darling wife. The star is for our son, whom we called "our little star" when he was very young. The pumpkin is for our daughter, who is my little pumpkin girl that is growing up WAY too fast. The sack of money is for the dog, Cash.
This isn't my first piece of ink. I got one some years back that represents me and how I believe in myself...
Both pieces were done by Matt Diana at No Regrets Tattoos. I liked his work with the first piece enough that I tracked him down after he left the shop in town that he was originally associated with. If you're in the area and want some ink done, look Matt up. He's a very talented guy and will give pretty much what YOU want on your body, and not what he thinks you should have, unlike many tattoo artists I've met.

Day 128 of 362
Yes, I look disheveled in the picture. I'm in a hurry... sue me... =P |
A way late start, in a hurry with a busy day ahead. Still recovering from the pre-release. Tonight, some friends and I are going to one of the first concerts I've ever gone to where I was more interested in one of the opening bands (Bad Religion) than the headliner (Rise Against). Wish me luck among the young hooligans... =P
